Air Mattress Beds and Back Health

The world was once full of snake-oil salesmen hawking their wares. The unfortunate truth of the matter is that, while the products may have changed, the promises of miracle cures are still thrown around with reckless abandon today. If you don't believe me, a few late nights watching infomercials (or even regular commercials) should serve to convince you. Modern sufferers have found themselves on their share of the wrong end of wonder-cures and their endless quest for a solution to often debilitating discomfort makes them ripe for the picking.

It's with that in mind that I'm going to offer full disclosure followed by simple honesty. Disclosure: I'm an advocate of air mattress beds as a potential solution for back pain. Honesty: An air mattress bed may not do a darn thing for your back pain. How contradictory of me.

The thing everybody needs to realize up front is that there is simply no one cure for everybody's back pain because there is simply no one cause for back pain and no universal body. The air mattress bed that serves up blissful relief for one person may do absolutely nothing for another person. Worse, it may compound matters or mask a serious medical condition with temporary relief.

Does that mean you should abandon all hope and move on to consider the next miracle solution? No. It simply means you should be an informed consumer.

Prior to considering any mattress, (air mattress, foam or inner spring) with back pain relief in mind, you should consult with a doctor to rule out or identify any serious medical issues behind your back pain. While the healthy support and minimal pressure point irritation of an air mattress bed might be beneficial to somebody with a slightly herniated disc or weak core muscles, it might provide only limited or temporary relief (if any) to a person with a ruptured disc.

Assuming a physician finds nothing seriously wrong, think logically about whether or not an air mattress bed, or any bed, is really the solution to your problem. I consider myself lucky to spend 6 hours a night in a bed. My average sleep schedule grants me about 5 hours. If I'm lucky, I manage to squeeze in an hour nap on the couch in the evening. I do, however, sit glued to an office chair for the better part of 10-12 hours a day. In determining what might be causing me back pain, I'm going to first look at my office chair as the culprit rather than my mattress. Take the time to review your daily habits before concluding your current mattress is the source of your woes.

If you have enough hours in the night for good rest but spend it tossing and turning uncomfortably, wake up feeling tired, are sore or have trouble getting out of bed due to an aching back, now's the time to start thinking about a new mattress. But even with this in mind and having already stated I'm an advocate, I'm not going to try to sell you on the idea of an air mattress bed specifically. That might be the solution for you, yes, but your body is unique and another solution such as a memory-foam mattress might be the better option for you. So what to do? How do you decide what kind of mattress to purchase?

Avoid ordering without trying. While some high quality air mattress bed manufacturers offer mail order purchasing and delivery, you don't want to invest the next few years of sleep and a substantial amount of your money on a sight-unseen bed. Visit a showroom and spend at least 10 minutes flat on your back on the model you are considering. If you have to drive out of your way to find a showroom selling the type of mattress you are considering, think of that as a worthwhile investment of your time.

Just as important, make sure the company offers a return policy. My own air mattress bed (a well known model with prolific advertising surrounding a particular number preference) offered a liberal satisfaction guaranteed policy and that was the deciding factor for me. Though a few minutes in a showroom and a couple nights on a similar model at a B&B had me pretty confidant in my purchase, there's no knowing how those results will measure up after a month. Suffice to say, I remain very happy with my purchase.

Finally, give it time. Some sufferers report near immediate improvement after investing in a high quality air mattress bed. For most of us, 2 to 3 weeks for noticeable results is a more realistic expectation. If you're so lucky as to wake up feeling like a new person after your first night on your new air mattress, great! But don't throw away that customer support number or return policy just yet. Your body may simply be responding favorably but temporarily to the changed sleep conditions. Give it time to work and give it time to ensure it will continue to work.

Having pointed out the precautions, it's fair to point out the benefits of an air mattress bed and why it might be the solution to your back pain problems. Air mattress beds have several points in their favor over either inner spring or foam mattresses.

The adjustable firmness offered by air mattress beds is probably the most important feature relative to back pain relief as this allows you to customize your bed to your particular needs and preferences. Remember, every body is different. With a foam or inner spring mattress, you are very limited in your ability to customize the firmness to your needs.

An air mattress bed provides the flexibility their competition doesn't. Some manufacturers even offer dual-zone models meaning you can set your preference on your side of the bed without your spouse having to compromise their preference on their side of the bed.

Like foam mattresses, air mattresses are very forgiving on pressure points such as your shoulders, elbows, knees, hips and head. This affords a more comfortable and restful sleep; both of which are key to health and recovery from illness or pain such as, you guessed it, back pain.

Last but not least, air mattress beds are at least on par with foam mattress beds in their ability to contour and support your back. This one feature is absolutely critical to good back health.

I hope these suggestions help you with your own back pain problems. Remember that your time in bed represents a surprisingly big part of your life. We spend about one third of our lives sleeping so it makes sense to buy the best quality mattress you can afford. Advertising claims of back pain relief should be taken with a grain of salt and with the knowledge that, what works for some won't necessarily work for others. Don't let the advertisers convince you. Figure it out for yourself.

And while we're at it, stop carrying your wallet in your back pocket, lift with your legs and stretch/warm-up before you exercise!

What's in Your Mattress

Some of the chemicals added to your conventional baby mattress are to reduce the chance of a fire? These chemicals are called fire retardants which only reduce the chance, not eliminate the possibility of your mattresses bursting into flames.

These toxic industrial strength chemicals are added to met the minimum standards set by government agencies, yet there are no regulations as to the type of chemicals that can be used. The most common chemical fire retardants used are PBDEs (polybrominated diphenyl ethers) and mainly pentaBDE. I decided if I could not pronounce the word I was not going to eat it, so why should I sleep on it! Due to the way the chemical is added to the mattress, PBDE particles leach out into the air and are inhaled by your baby and you. This exposure can cause thyroid and liver damage, change our motor behavior and other brain activity. This chemical, pentaBDE has been banned in Europe and some states in the US, however there are no plans for a recall of the mattresses with the banned chemical. It is being replaced by other chemicals which are no better.

Are these chemicals harming our children and should you truly be concerned? I know that I am and it scares me! Life is hard enough without added hardships caused by toxic chemicals that we as parents are able to control the exposure to our children, so why don't we take charge? My reason was due to lack of knowledge and information, but now that I know, things are changing in my house. We as a family eat healthy, we raise our own meat, eggs, I buy organic products and in the summer I plant a big garden and put up the produce. After research and information that I found, my children are now sleeping on organic mattresses and we are slowly converting to organic clothing. I want to reduce our chances of having health problems that will affect the rest of our lives. Since babies are more vulnerable to chemicals than adults and your baby can accumulate up to 50% of her lifetime cancer risk by their second birthday, I am going to do everything I can to eliminate that chance.

When you are purchasing a new bed or replacing an old baby mattress, the only mattress that you should use is an organic mattress. There are many options available to the parents, do you want one with coils in or with out coils? The mattress should contain organic wool as it is naturally fire resistant and resistant to mold, mildew and urine odors. Organic cotton can also be used; however it should be combined with the organic wool to have the most protection for your baby. True they are a bit more expensive than the conventional mattress where I found a cheap one for $35.00: however, my baby's life depends upon the choices I make for her, so I will do everything that I can to make the right choices to protect her and her health. The extra expense is worth her life. Join me in protecting our children's future.

All About The Mattress!

Those of us who think that mattresses are just something to plunk ourselves on and while away the night, couldn't be more wrong. We simply might have to rethink again. The fact is that we spend one-fourth of our lives in bed and what should demand our maximum attention often goes unnoticed- for example the mattress that we sleep on.

We make the mistake of undermining the importance of mattresses by considering them to be just another part of our furniture. But this is not so. A bad mattress can be worse than the cavity in your tooth. It can cause spinal problems, muscles aches and sleep problems. The net result would be a stressed head over an equally unhealthy body.

So be very careful about choosing the mattress where you will be spending a good proportion of your life.

There are different types of mattresses available in the market today and what we decide to buy depends solely on our needs and specifications. For some foam mattresses might be the ideal choice while you may find others swearing by a spring mattress. Waterbeds and airbeds are other popular form of mattresses with their own set of merits and demerits to follow. The reason why people don't prefer air beds is because they are designed for temporary sleeping rather than daily usage. Its good to have an air mattress around when you are out camping or if you have guests over at your place. As for the water beds, they aren't considered to be very practical either because of the weight that they carry. Many homes are not designed to take the weight of a waterbed in one place.

A very popular myth running amongst most people is that hard mattresses are better in comparison to the softer ones. But this is not necessarily true. What is more important is the consistency of the surface of the mattress. The mattress should not cause pressure points in your body and leave you feeling sore. It should feel comfortable and should be in alignment with your spine so as to avoid any unwanted pressure on your other muscles and body parts.

What Is The Right Time To Change Your Mattress?

It is very essential for the user to know when his mattress needs to be replaced. Sometimes the regular use of the mattress might leave behind the impression of your body on it. In such cases you should try rotating or turning your mattress every three months at the least. Moreover the most important signal that your mattress might give you will be its inability to help you in a good night's sleep. That's right- when you start feeling uncomfortable in your old mattress or if you get up every morning with a sore back you can be sure that your mattress is desperately crying out for its retirement.

If you are prepared to buy a new replacement for your mattress be sure to check it out for yourself. Lie down on it and see if you are comfortable enough. If it meets both your price as well as comfort level then you can be sure that you have made the right choice!

Choosing the Right Mattress to Relieve Your Back Pain Problem

Some people choose beds which complement their style of living. Most settle for what is cheap, while others take extra time to distinguish which bed mattress is most comfortable to sleep on.
If there's anything that's most important in the bedroom area, it's the bed itself. Your bed somehow defines how you live. For instance, the height of your bed depends on the way you utilize your bed. Beds can also be used for seating, in addition to sleeping on. However, the softness of the bed should not be compromised in choosing the bed that is right for you, especially if your current bed mattress is causing pains and other muscle-related problems.
Back pain is caused by a number of reasons, but for the most part, back pains are caused by poor posture whether it happens while working or while sleeping. Back pains can be traced to prolonged bad posture and unbalanced distribution of weight in your body especially while you are sleeping, since you spend a continuous amount of time sleeping.
Sleep is the most important activity for a human being, and it requires the most comfortable, if not the most extravagant, sleeping solutions. Most people would have beds in their bedrooms. Some settle for sofas or couches, while some others have hammocks or loft beds. However, if you are experiencing back pains, you'll need to consider choosing a different kind of bed, the right bed mattress, which will help alleviate your stubborn bad back.
Factors to consider would be the softness of the cushion. When you lie down on it, it shouldn't sink too low or not sink at all. Just the right amount of softness can make a huge difference. Choose a mattress that you can't feel the springs in. Make sure there are no creaky noises that can disrupt your sleep because of the sounds.
The right mattress can promote good body posture and a good back if your back rests perfectly aligned while you are on the bed. This means that when you're lying down on your bed, you can draw a straight line horizontally along your spine from your neck to the buttocks.
Mattresses are usually made of either the standard material that we're all used to or memory foam. Choose the one that suits you well and makes you comfortable. Make sure it doesn't make you feel like you are being eaten up by your bed.
Of course, the right bed mattress size is also important in choosing the perfect bed. You don't want your limbs to be falling off the bed, or worse, your whole body to fall off the bed.
You will need to make the proper adjustments to your bed base, or to the head board. You don't want your head to be bumping the head board too often, so add a little room from your head to the foot of the bed. It will also add a more aesthetic appeal to put the perfect-sized bed in your bedroom. A bigger bed makes a small room look bigger, while a small bed makes the room look empty and lack personality.
Sleepers often complain about stiff necks, shoulder pains and pains. These are also often caused by poor body posture while asleep. Your mattress is most important in giving you that much-needed recuperation from the day's work.
Sleeping on a hard mattress is sometimes perceived to keep your body straight and upright, but on the contrary, the hard mattress can stifle the natural contours of your body. Mattresses which complement your physical contours make the best beds and promote better posture and thus, lead to a better and more relaxing sleeping experience.

Don't Let The Bedbugs Bite - Clean Your Mattress

While bed bugs are becoming a problem in many hotels and even some home, most people do not need to worry about these 1/4 inch long bugs that feed on your blood. Bed mites, however are another story and something that almost everyone has right in their bed!

Bed mites or house dust mites microscopic bugs that live on dead skin cells. They are in your pillows, your carpet, your furniture and most other places. A mattress can host tens of thousands of these little creatures!

While these mites are typically not harmful, they can contribute to allergies and asthma and most people want to limit the population of mites in their homes - and mattresses. One way to accomplish this is to make sure to clean your bed clothes regularly, buy new pillows every 6 months and clean your mattress twice a year.

Cleaning Your Mattress

Vacuuming is a good way to clean any mattress. Vacuum the sides, the box springs and every nook and corner. It's a good idea to make this part of your cleaning routine and plan to vacuum the mattress every time you take mattress pad out to wash.

Rotating your mattress is also another way to keep it in good condition. . This prevents rough use of the mattress and keeps the pressure zones from settling to one spot on the mattress.

From time to time, you might want to clean the mattress with upholstery shampoo. Try looking for a product called Dry Suds that will help eliminate stubborn stains. Mix a small detergent with warm water, beat it up in a beater. Now remove the froth and the stuff that remains is great for cleaning these stains.

If you need to dry the mattress after washing, you can use a blow dryer but this can be very time consuming. Another method is to set the mattress out in the sun to dry. This will also help air it out and the mattress can benefit from the anti-bacterial properties of the sun.

Experience Incredible Comfort With Air Mattress For Sofa Beds

There comes a time during long visits to a friend or relative’s house, whereupon realizing you will probably stay the night, that the inevitable dread sets in: where will you sleep? If you’re lucky, your host will have a spare bedroom, but more often than not, you’re presented with the spare bed of choice -- a sofa bed. What do you have to look forward to? Creaky hinges, a paper-thin mattress and an ill-conceived metal frame that will contribute to making absolutely sure that your night is, quite literally, as sleepless as possible!

Sofa beds are typically the guest-bed of choice, as they are easily stored, financially feasible and relatively mobile. The only problem is: no one can actually get a full night’s sleep on them! Fortunately, there is a solution -- a new technology that replaces your old, thin sofa bed mattress with an air mattress for sofa beds that will allow your guests to sleep in comfort.

Why Choose an Air Mattress for Sofa Beds?

Not only will your guests be more comfortable on an air mattress, but an air mattress for sofa beds is also designed specifically with your guest’s comfort in mind. When you unfold the sofa bed for your guest, throw away that thin fabric mattress! With only three minutes and an electric pump, you can have a fully inflated air mattress for sofa bed and a happy guest.

To make using an air mattress for sofa beds even more convenient, these mattresses also work with standard-sized bed sheets, so there’s no need to invest in new linens. Both comfortable and convenient, your guest can choose the level of inflation that they will need to have a restful sleep -- softness and firmness can be adjusted in a matter of minutes.

Your Guests Will Want to Stay

The new models of air mattress for sofa beds also present a high level of convenience for yourself as the host. Instead of requiring extra storage space for the air mattress for sofa bed, and taking the risk of forgetting where you stored it, an air mattress for sofa beds can be folded up with the sofa bed. In fact, the mattress itself is made up of two distinct layers, much like a box-spring and top mattress on a standard bed. The new air mattress for sofa beds have a bottom layer of coil springs for physical support, while the top layer is inflated to your guest’s preferred firmness.

The mattress also has a cover layer around it, to protect the air mattress for sofa bed from punctures and to increase support. To inflate the mattress after the sofa bed has been unfolded, simply unzip the mattress cover, insert your electric pump and inflate the mattress to your guest’s desired comfort. An air mattress for sofa beds will ensure that your guests have a restful stay in your home, and will hopefully inspire them to purchase their own revolutionary air mattress for the next time you’re an overnight guest in their home!

What To Make Of Those Nasty Body Impressions On Your Mattress

Looked at your mattress lately? Is it a little lumpy? Does it seem to sink in showing where you lay every night? It this normal? What should I do? If you are like me, you don't like this much. It looks bad and you just don't like it. Hi. This is Terry L McGee, the former mattress salesman again with article two on buying a mattress. Before I was trained to sell a mattress, I had a completely different idea about body impressions on the mattress. I used to think this was a bad thing and it must mean my mattress was wearing out or it was a bad mattress to start with or something.

I must admit, I still don't like the way it looks, but body impressions are what you want. What did you say, Terry? That is right a body impression let's you know your mattress is working. It shows that the mattress is forming to your body shape and offering you support. If a mattress is too hard and does not conform to the shape of your body, you will not see much of a body impression.

Now this is not a way in itself to tell if your mattress suits you or not, so don't get confused. I just want you to know that it is normal for a mattress to show body impressions. If you think about it logically, you will realize that softer materials are used on top to bring softness and comfort to you. So naturally when you use soft materials, your body weight is going to compress these materials. Where you lie on the bed is going to be flatter than where you don't lay.

When you purchase a new mattress, it will be only be a short time, until you begin to see this impression in the mattress. If you start to notice an
impression after a few weeks or months, you might get the impression that your mattress was no good or is going bad. But on the contrary, it is doing its job and working to bring you comfort. If you make a mattress out of material that is so dense and hard that it will not allow a body impression to be made with say 200 lbs., that would be a hard mattress indeed and probably very uncomfortable.

If you sleep on the floor, you will not see a body impression. The floor is too hard to leave an impression. It is also too hard to sleep on with any level of comfort. Get the picture. There is a balance between hardness and comfort level to achieve, with different materials. But the body impression is not in itself an indication that your mattress is bad. So don't go out there looking for a new one before its time.

If a body impression dips in over 1 3/4 inches, then you have a problem and would be considered a warranty issue. You should take a look at your warranty and the time of purchase to see if you can get a prorated amount towards your new mattress.

I know, I don't like the way the surface of the mattress looks either when you get these impressions. But it is just one of those things in life you must accept. It may not look good, but if you are getting a good nights sleep each and every night, your mattress is doing its job. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, right? Let your body tell you how your mattress is doing, not just your eyes.

You can cover up the lumpy surface with a nice mattress cover, sheets and comforter and make those body impressions disappear from sight. I hope this article saves you time, money and discomfort.

Memory Foam Mattress To Ensure Healthy Sleeping

Initially used in 1980s in the hospitals to provide comfort to the bedridden patients, memory foam mattresses were introduced in the market for the commons only by the 1990s at exorbitant prices. But as the popularity of the memory foam mattress grew, many private companies came up in the market, to sell their very own versions of the mattress. So, with the increasing popularity, memory foam mattresses have become far more affordable and accessible.

The best part about these memory foam mattresses is that they do not poke you in places providing unequal support like the traditional spring mattresses. On the contrary, their foam supports your entire body with the foam providing a relieving cushioning effect irrespective of your size and the position you are in, giving you a sound and relaxed sleep. Sleeping peacefully and comfortably is essential for your health, it is crucial that you buy the right memory foam mattress for yourself.

• Think first whether you really need a new mattress

A good and relaxing sleep is very crucial for your health, it is necessary that your mattress makes you sleep comfortably every night. If you get up each morning beaming with satiety and all refreshed then there is no need to buy another one; but if you feel really tired and cranky due to shuffling and tossing on the bed all night, then you certainly need a good mattress to provide you comfort and quality sleep.

• Finding the most suitable memory foam mattress for yourself

When you set out to buy a memory foam mattress for yourself, it is important to consider the size you will you purchase. Most popular sizes in the market are the 8” and 6” mattresses that are quite deep to provide your body with enough cushioning and are firm enough for supporting your body to impart comfort.

• The rates and prices of the mattresses

As there is a plethora of options available in the market regarding memory foam mattresses, it is better that you first acquire all the knowledge about the various mattresses available in the marker along with their offered rates. Different brands of the mattresses will avail you with different benefits. Some brands of memory foam mattresses will come with great comfort and softness while some will provide with extra support. The smell takes some days or perhaps some weeks in some cases to fade away. Though the smell does not trigger any allergies but can be slightly bothersome for people with sensitivity towards smells. This problem is not worth worrying as the smell can be combated easily through:

• Airing out of the room where the mattress is placed
• Washing the sheets after first few nights of sleeping over the mattress.
• Putting a dish full of vinegar over night stand
• Using an ozonator device

iCoil Mattress Miracles

What's the big deal about iCoil and why should you care?

If you were looking for a mattress that would last a lifetime, no matter what the brand name, you'd only have one simple question to ask, but before we get to that question, consider what you're up against as a mattress shopper.

If you've been bed shopping, lately, you are surely aware of the myriad of different mattress materials that are being used.

Years ago, even before all these choices, I remember being confused, myself, with trying to wrap my mind around everything I was being told by the salespeople in different stores I would visit.

Today, the job is even more daunting with air, water, latex, gel, memory foam, iCoil and springs of all kinds making up the market, it's really confusing for you, the consumer.

In spite of the vast array of mattress %materials% available, it's a well known fact that a whopping 75%-80% of Americans still prefer sleeping on spring mattresses.

With this in mind, you might want to spend a couple of minutes with me, educating yourself on the difference in springs and what that means to you.

Bonnell springs are the most common kind of springs that mattresses are made with, so let's take a look at them.

The bonnell spring mattresses are made by securing all the springs together as a unit and then surrounding them with a stiff wire, to make a perimeter around the mattress. By tying all the springs together, what you get is, essentially, one great big spring.

Not only does this design transfer motion from one person to another, it makes for a very unyielding material.

If you end up bending a portion of that perimeter wire, your mattress will be permanently bent there.

I had a friend who tied his mattress to the roof of his car, while moving, and the wind lifted the front half of the mattress up and bent it. It was really funny looking when he laid it down, because it stuck up 3" off the boxed spring on one end.

There's brand new technology called iCoil that I've been studying into and it's far and away the most ideal design in mattress springs I've seen yet.

These iCoils are so precision-made that they can be compressed, rolled and placed into a take home box. Once you arrive home, with your real mattress in a box, you open the box and the mattress slowly returns to it's exact size and shape.

The manufacturer did this to make it possible for you to buy an extremely high quality mattress without creating a black hole in your wallet.

The latest technology is applied to every product they produce. You don't sacrifice any quality even though you are paying far less.

No other mattress springs were able to pass this test.

The pocket springs never returned to anywhere near their original size and shape. The bonnell springs performed worst of all.

In fact, remember my friend with the bent springs? Well, the bonnell spring mattress that was rolled up, did the same thing. It remained rolled permanently after being unpacked. It reminded me of a giant roll of chicken wire.

Having iCoil inside your mattress is the only question you need to ask when you're shopping. I'll bet you had already guessed that.

Do you want a graphic illustration of what I'm talking about? Check out a cool video showing a 30 ton steam roller vs. iCoil. You can see it at http://www.sleeprevolution.com. Once there, look for the Durability Feature Video. I think you'll agree, after seeing their video, that this cutting edge technology is in a class all by itself.

What To Consider When Shopping for a Mattress

New mattresses are expensive, so if you are in the market for a new mattress, you may want to be careful about your selection and make sure you get the most for your money. However, not everyone is looking for the same thing when it comes to mattresses. Before you start shopping, take a moment to think about your options!

Setting a budget is a great first step. Mattresses range in price from a few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars. Your budget will determine the size and style that you can afford. Also, try to avoid setting your budget too high just because you want a bigger bed. You can find all sizes within most price ranges. By setting your budget first, before you start to shop, you will avoid overspending when you get to the store.

When considering your budget, also think about financing options. Although this often means that you could end up paying more in the end, if you finance your mattress, you may be able to afford a bigger, nicer, or more up-scale mattress in the long run. With financing, you pay a lower monthly price for your mattress until it is completely paid off. The higher price, though, occurs because you will have to interest on the mattress. It is like a car loan, but on a smaller level.

After you have set your budget you can begin looking for mattresses. You next step is determining a size. If you already have a bed frame in mind, you will probably also have a specific size in mind. Usually, if you are buying a bed for a child, you will want a single or double mattress. You can purchase anything from a small mattress like you might find in a dorm room to a large mattress known as a California King.

The size of your mattress is not the only factor to consider. When it comes to the firmness of a mattress, different people have different preferences. So, it is a good idea to consider the feel of the mattress as well. For most people, this makes a big difference. If you purchase a mattress that is too firm, you might have a problem falling asleep because it will not have any give. However, if you purchase a mattress that is too soft, you might wake up with horrible backaches and other muscle pains. In either case, choosing the wrong mattress can be very uncomfortable and can leave you unhappy with your purchase. Most likely, this will result in returning the mattress to the store, which might not be an easy task depending on the mattress’s size; and, of course, you will have to begin the process all over again.

Many people choose a mattress that has different levels of firmness which can be adjusted. These mattresses are usually a bit more expensive, but if you have problems sleeping or have back pain, your doctor might recommend such a mattress. This kind of mattress allows both you and your partner to choose the firmness that is right for you. Again, you may pay more for this luxury, but sometimes that extra money is worth it.

You can also order an adjustable bed, such as those you see in hospitals. This is a good option for anyone older or sick who spends a lot of time in bed. You can move the back of the bed to sit up and move the foot of the bed to prop up your feet. Some beds move together, while others move side by side individually. This is done so that both you and your spouse can be comfortable. Similar to mattresses that adjust levels of firmness, beds that move are usually more expensive, but for some, the cost is worth it.

When you are shopping for a mattress, it is also a good idea to check out the reviews online for the different brands and particular styles of mattresses that are available. Reading reviews is a common practice many consumers take advantage of. There are many different factors to consider when buying a mattress, and reviews can help to eliminate products which consumers felt were no good. Some mattresses wear out faster than others and some come with great customer support while others come with no customer support. If you want the best mattress for your money, it is important to read reviews and speak with people about their experiences with different mattresses.

Another aspect that many people forget is the practicality of a specific mattress. When looking for a mattress, think about how you are going to get it to your home. If you have a large truck, this is not a problem, but otherwise, a store that delivers is key. Some charge a large amount for shipping the mattress to your home while others may deliver it for free. Consider this and other important aspects if you cannot decide between two great mattress options. Finding a mattress that you like and, most importantly, feel comfortable in is crucial to feeling healthy and well rested.

Mattress Cleaner and Its Benefits

Mattress cleaner is something on the minds of many adults around the globe as fears of bed bugs and dust mites lead to people taking the cleanliness of their mattress more seriously. From stain removal to health concerns many people are looking for a cleaner to protect their investment.

Buying a good cleaner is especially important for anyone with pets or a small child that may have an accident and stain a mattress. Rather than bearing the cost of replacing an expensive mattress, the right cleaner can remove any stains and odors and leave it looking great.

When using a mattress cleaner, it is important to read and follow the instructions carefully in order to clean your mattress effectively and safely. Because every cleaner works differently, it is important that you read the instructions each time you buy and use a cleaner.

Equally important to reading the instructions on how to use the cleaner is reading what it can be used for and not used for. Not all of them are made for the same purpose, some work better on certain types of stains, while others work on different stains.

Also make sure that the cleaner is safe if you have small children or pets in the house. Before using the solvent make sure you understand and have read all the indications and warnings on the label. If you have any concerns you may want to continue to research your options to find the right mattress cleaner to fit your needs.

Mattress cleaner is good to have in the house in case of spills, stains or other issues that can soil your mattress. The reality for most consumers is that investing in a cleaner is much more economical than investing in a new mattress when your existing one becomes stained. No matter how bad the stain or stains may look, you may be surprised at how clean they can become by using the right mattress cleaner.

The next level of maintenance would be a professional mattress cleaner to help restore your mattress to its former glory. Once you have used a mattress cleaner and are confident your mattress is as clean as it can be, you will want to invest in a quality mattress cover in order to minimize stains or damage to your mattress.

Just remember, before you start shopping for a new mattress simply because your existing mattress has been stained, you should purchase a mattress cleaner, follow the instructions and try to save yourself hundreds or thousands of dollars.
