Talalay Latex Mattress

Most people have heard of mattresses made of memory foam and spring coil, but what is a latex mattress exactly and how is it made? It used to be natural rubber made from the sap of rubber trees but now you can get both natural and synthetic latex, both of which have the same properties.

Latex is very dense and lasts for many years. It has lots of holes made in it, to keep it soft and comfortable. There are different sized holes in different areas, to give the various parts of the body the correct amount of support, so it feels very much like sleeping on memory foam.

These mattresses are becoming very popular, and big bedding companies are producing them such as Sealy and Serta. Latex mattresses are made from a combination of synthetic and natural latex or synthetic only.

Talalay and Dunlop Mattresses

With the Dunlop production method, the latex is whipped with air to make foam and then baked. If the Talalay method is used, the foam is processed in a vacuum and then flash frozen.

Talalay is more expensive than Dunlop and it is softer but both are great quality mattresses and different people prefer different types of latex mattresses.

Both Dunlop and Talalay latex mattresses are soft, comfortable and very supportive. If you are thinking about upgrading your bed, it is a good idea to consider one.

Latex is four times as breathable as some kinds of memory foam, keeping you cool and comfortable, and it molds to your body shape like a memory foam mattress would.

When you are buying a mattress, make sure that you buy from a reputable company and be sure it is made from high quality latex. It is also best to buy from a company that provides a warranty.
